Managing Partner

Matt is the Founder and Managing Partner of Welo Equity Partners, formed in 2025.  Matt has extensive experience with mergers and acquisitions, strategic development and operational restructuring plans as well as supporting and leading executive management teams, and organizational change across all areas of business.

Matt has deep experiences across more than half of the United States.  He’s worked across 6+ industries and lower middle market sizes from $2M to $400M of revenues totaling 20+ companies and $2+ billion of transactions including Conco, PirTano Construction, Cinterra, National Concrete Accessories, Wescon Plastics, Craig Electronics, Shur-Line, Creative Memories, Ames Taping Tools and Latite Roofing.

Recently, Matt was the Managing Director, Strategy and Operations at Rising Point Capital, a private equity group.  There he led acquisitions and integrations with 3 platform companies totaling 5 acquisitions.  Prior to Rising Point, Matt was leading operational initiatives and operating roles with Nova Capital Management and its companies.  Before Nova, Matt was an executive consultant leading improvements and operating roles at Ames Tools and Creative Memories.  Matt was also at Goense, Bounds & Partners, a private equity firm focused on the lower middle market companies from 2006 to 2010.  From 2003 to 2006, Matt was in two investment banking roles at Goldman Sachs & Co and Keefe, Bruyette & Woods.

Matt holds a BS in Finance from the University of Illinois.
